Adaptive Keyboard
MICROSOFT
Background
Microsoft Applied Science Group is an applied research and development team dedicated to creating the next generation of computer interaction technologies.
In 2009 they developed an adaptive keyboard with a large, touch-sensitive strip at the top of the keys, much the predecessor of the current touch bar from Apple. On top of the touch strip, the keyboard had the unique characteristic that the content of the keys could be adapted to the context of the application.

Problem
I worked in collaboration with this group to explore and visualize scenarios for the use of this keyboard in the context of the ERP software domain. I explored key workflows from a couple the target persona’s in the Dynamics software and investigated how they could optimize their tasks and increase efficiency by use of this keyboard.
