SIMCORP
Background
SimCorp is the leading provider of investment management solutions, providing digital solutions from Front Office to Back Office. SimCorps customers are insurance companies, banks and pension funds and most users are financial professionals, spending a large portion of their day analyzing markets and financial trends.
2016
Problem
For SimCorp Dimension 5.9 we developed a new feature set that enables users to receive alerts and notifications across the different modules of the product suite. Alers are auto-generated based on the user defined rules and thresholds for their financial assets. In order for the users to have the ability to receive alerts anywhere at any time of the day, I got tasked to design a mobile application and web portal – on top of improvement for the existing WinForm solution, to ensure all applications could point to the same data source and financial logic.
Mobile
The mobile application allows users to receive alerts anywhere at any time. With personalized filters it is easy for the user to get a quick overview of the alerts relevant to them. As this was SimCorps first mobile application, it was important to set a clear direction for the ease-of-use and visual style.
I designed a mobile application with a distinct and modern look so it matches the users expectations of the current state of mobile technology. Bij adding the familiar triangular shape of the SimCorp brand and implementing the branding color scheme, I created an application with a visual connection to the main digital product but with its own modern take on it.
Web
The goal of the web application was to increase the number of users on SimCorp Dimension on a low budget technical solution, meaning there is no need for them to install the Windows client on premise. It also allows users to receive alerts and notifications on personal devices, which is an important pain point for existing customers.
The web solution stands out from the existing product because of its modern look and alignment with current web trends. It provides a familiar feel to the desktop application so it is easy to adopt for existing users and allows for technical synchronization with the windows client.
