Background
Microsoft Dynamics is a line of Enterprise Resource Planning software applications, targeted at smaller and medium sized companies – Dynamics NAV, Dynamics AX and Dynamics CRM. Microsoft markets Dynamics applications through a network of reselling partners who provide specialized installation and customization support. Microsofts’ development center in Copenhagen is responsible for all parts of the systems related to Logistics, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Sales and Purchasing.

Problem
Dynamics 365 introduced new purchasing capabilities that allowed all employees in a company to do purchasing of office supplies and computer equipment on a simple and intuitive website.
Process
With the initial design phase of Dynamics 365, our design team decided to focus on End to End product scenarios across the ERP system, like Purchase to Pay or Quote to Cash. This meant that the design process started with an extended mapping of all users and parties involved in the process and the dependent workflows.
Design
This module is a web portal where all employees of the company can login but is connected to the bigger ERP system, where dedicated purchasing professionals can set up all vendor agreements. The design project included both sides of the system.
